Some of the main causes for poor eyesight are staring and straining. These are common occurrences that our eyes undergo on a daily basis; usually after a long day at work. Our eyes get tired and need to relax just like our bodies. The constant strain on your eyes daily does nothing but damage the eyes. For improving eyesight, below are three exercises designed to remove eye strain. 1. Dot Exercise: 2. Word Exercise: 3. Double Vision Exercise: Improving your eyesight is possible by learning exercises that will help you develop lasting habits. This will only continue to improve your eyesight for years to come. Adrienne Smith is a work at home business owner and she enjoys helping others find the same success. Having had poor eyesight herself from many hours of computer work, she was thrilled to learn of these amazing methods that have improved her eyesight. This is a simple exercise that requires nothing but focusing on a dot located on a page. Stare at the dot until it comes into focus. Usually after just a few seconds, the dot actually becomes less clear and blurry. Now try relaxing your eyes by closing them for a minute. Now try looking at the dot again without straining your eyes. Don't stare at it; instead let your eyes wander around the page glancing frequently over the dot. Your eyes need movement instead of just staring at the object. Make sure that you blink from time to time. Now try closing your eyes and visualizing the dot and then open your eyes and look at it again. Once your eyes are relaxed, it will be much easier to see the dot.
This exercise is similar to the dot exercise. You want to find a word that contains at least five or more letters. Look at the word so that all the letters are in view, but don't move your eyes. Focus until you get the best image in your head. We've already learned that when you stare and focus hard, it will cause the word to become less clear and blurry. Now try relaxing your eyes and start moving your eyes slowly around and over each letter. Don't forget to blink. Just let your eyes lead you and don't force them. When you look at the word again, it should be clearer. By letting your eyes move around instead of just straining on the word works best.
The purpose of this exercise is to get your eyes to work collectively as a team. Most people focus one eye to look at an object while the other eye is wandering all around. Although squinting can help bring an object into focus using both eyes, it also causes additional stress. They key is to relax your eyes and calmly focus on the object which will then allow both eyes to focus together.
