The Truth About the One Day Acuvue

The One Day Acuvue isn't for everybody. It's one of those contacts that you just use one day and then throw it away. I've been wearing these for about three years and have been surprised at how well they've done. Here are reasons you may not like them and then some reasons why you might.

Here's one thing you'll notice right away. These are expensive. It's not that each lens is high priced. That's not so. It's that you have to have so many... if you use them every day. That's why the cost really adds up, you just use so many. There's a trick to the cost though.

The trick is there is no maintenance to these contacts. See, there's no cleaning, no disinfecting, no enzyme treatment, no nothing. And all those chemical costs really add up. So you have to balance out the cost of the contacts against the savings from no chemicals. There are other savings too.

Time. No cleaning and maintenance means less time spent working on contacts. That's not a lot of time, but it's just one more thing to do. With the 1 Day Acuvue, you just toss the lenses every day and that's that. Spend that time on something else.

The real plus to me has been more than just the convenience of these lenses. These contacts are a joy to use. You're wearing brand new contacts every day. They're comfortable to wear all day. The Moist version especially also works great if you have dry eyes like I do.

One Day Acuvue contacts aren't the cheapest lenses you can get. But since you know longer must do all that cleaning and maintenance, there isn't a great deal of difference in the cost. With the added convenience of a disposable lens, you get that like-new contacts feel all the time. That's what I really like.
